Open Enrollment for Plan Year 2017
September 15, 2016, through December 2, 2016
Open enrollment is the period in which we allow employees to make changes in their employee benefit selections. The changes employees make during this time are effective January 1, 2017. Changes made to health insurance benefits will reflect on the December, 2016, paycheck. All other changes will be on the January, 2017, paycheck.
During open enrollment employees may add or drop coverage; add or drop dependents; switch from one health plan to another; change dental plans; increase or decrease the amount of life insurance; make changes in disability coverage; add or drop vision coverage; and add or drop long-term care insurance.
The only benefit an employee must re-enroll in every year is the Flexible Spending Account Plan (FSA). All employees who participated in the FSA in 2016 must complete a new enrollment form for 2017.
There are no changes to the health plan for January 1, 2017.
To make changes to health insurance benefits, employees may come by or contact the LPSS Insurance Department (telephone 521-7065; 521-7064; or 521-7066). For all other benefit changes, employees must visit with a representative from First Financial Group of America (FFGA). Click to see the schedule of when FFGA will be visiting each school.
For employees who cannot come to the Insurance Department during business hours, Insurance Department staff will be available to assist you in the Central Office Board Room on Thursday, November 3, from 5pm to 7 pm and Saturday, November 12, from 9am to 12 pm.
