Two LPSS schools are recognized for performance and Teacher of the year awards presented

Recognition of J Wallace James Arts & Technology Academy and Myrtle Place Elementary.

The Louisiana Department of Education operates on the belief that all children can learn. In keeping with that fundamental value, the state department has sought to identify schools that are successfully educating students, despite the obstacles associated with educating children in poverty. Two of our schools, J Wallace James Arts & Technology Academy and Myrtle Place Elementary have been recognized as High-Performing/High-Poverty schools.
