Edgar Martin Organizations - Art Club
- MathCounts is a national math enrichment, coaching and competition program that promotes middle school mathematics achievements through grassroots involvement in every U.S. state and territory. After several months of coaching , participating schools selet students to complete individually or as part of a team in one of the more than 500 written and oral competitions held nationwide and in U.S. schools overseas. Winners at the local level proceed to state competitions, where the top 4 Mathletes and top coach earn the right to represent their state or territory at the national level. At all levels, Mathcounts challenges student’s math skills, develops their self confidence and rewards them for their achievements.
Quiz Bowl - The Quiz Bowl is an academic recall competition designed for teams of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. These teams will compete throughout the fall and spring, ending in a single elimination tournament. Renaissance - These team members organize the programs that recognize and award EAM student achievements in academics. They also help out in the community and service projects throughout the year. Team members are in 7th and 8th grades and are selected by teachers. They must maintain good grades, conduct and attendance throughout the year. Read more about this club on the Renaissance Page! Science Club - The 6th and 7th grade science club was established to promote interest in science. One club allows students to participate in various Science related articles which are provided outside of the class room each year. Members must maintain an “A-B” average and have no U’s in core subjects. Also, all interested students must apply for membership, pay dues and complete membership forms during the specified time period announced each year. Student Council - Members of Student Council are elected by the student body. These school leaders serve as liaisons between school administrators, teachers and the students. Yearbook allows 8th grade students to become a part of making memories through the design and development of an unforgettable book.
