  Students who participate in the severe program, which may include Moderate Mental Disability, Severe Mental Disability, Profound Disability, Multiple Disabilities, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Autism may participate in regular LEAP assessment but typically participate in LEAP Alternate Assessment (LAA).   The Lafayette Parish Gifted Program offers services to over 1200 students in grades K-12 who have been identified as having special learning needs due to exceptionally high academic skills.
