Office of Operations Vacant, Chief Operations Officer Oversees Maintenance, Planning & Facilities and Transportation Goal: Objectives: To continue to make the necessary facility renovations and modifications to provide the appropriate learning environment for new programs. To continue to make the necessary steps to address student and employee safety issues and to initiate projects for corrective action.
Goal: Objectives: The construction and renovation projects needed for the schools, in order to protect the well-being of the students we serve, will be reprioritized to work, within the budget allowed for such projects. If such funds are approved by the Board. To develop a plan that will provide for development and funding of additional facilities renovation projects. To continue to address life safety code upgrade projects and roof replacement projects, as funding allows. Attempt to reduce the consumption of utilities at the schools by monitoring the energy management system, reducing the number of run-time hours of the HVAC systems and attempting to maintain a comfortable learning environment for the students.
Transportation: The Transportation Department managed 293 buses and 81 full-time bus attendants. The total number of students transported was 22, 508 twice daily, of those 20, 638 attended public schools and 1,870 went to parochial schools. the total number of miles driven was 18,788 per day or 3,380,040 per year.
