ACCOUNTABILITY/TEST SCORES Phyllis Bartlett, Director of Accountability
Oversees all areas of the state accountability system for the district, as well as working with instruction on improving standardized test scores.
Goal:
- To revise and implement the District's Continuous Improvement Plan for 2005-2009.
Progress:
- A revised vision, mission and belief statements were submitted to the Lafayette Parish School Board for approval. Approval of these statements allowed the Lafayette Parish School System to become more focused on improving performance for all students. In addition, these revisions allowed the Lafayette Parish School System to seek District Accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools' Council on Accreditation and School Improvement. SACS/CASI granted accreditation in February 2005, which made Lafayette Parish one of only six districts in the nation to receive this distinction. School Performance Scores released in October 2004 illustrated that Lafayette Parish schools have much to be proud of, but still face some challenges.
