World Languages

The Lafayette Parish School System provides standards-based instruction in world languages with various points of entry into its programs.  The programs include both immersion and traditional language study.  The district offers French and Spanish at all five comprehensive high schools, French in grades 4-8, and French immersion in selected elementary and middle schools.  Japanese and Latin are offered at selected high schools. Alice Boucher Elementary School, as the World Languages school of choice, is developing its Spanish immersion program and intends to add other languages in the immersion setting.
