Summer Reading Assignment The list of authors, series, and books below are recommendations from current AHS students and teachers. With the exception of Advanced Placement* classes, STUDENTS HAVE THE FREEDOM TO CHOOSE ACCORDING TO THEIR INTERESTS. During the summer, keep a reading log on each book as you read. (See the link on the left side of this screen to view and print the reading log, either in PDF or Word format.) On the first day of school, return with your reading logs and be prepared to share your books with other students in a "book chat." This will not be a formal report but rather a discussion designed to spread the word about good books. All students who participate by reading at least two books will receive reading FABULOUS PRIZES. *Advanced Placement students will follow a different reading program, which will be outlined by Mrs. Ancelet and Mrs. Savoie before the end of the school year. Reading Recommendations Short summaries of each book are available by clicking on either of the following links and typing in the title about which you want more information: www.barnesandnoble.com www.amazon.com Please note: Because the recommendations in this brochure cover a wide range of maturity and reading levels, it is suggested that STUDENTS and PARENTS reveiw the lists and make the appropriate selections for summer reading together. Students and teachers recommend books by ANY of these authors: Laurie Hals Anderson Mary Kay Andrews Tom Clancy Mary Higgins Clark Pat Conroy Chris Crutcher Sarah Dessen
