Writes of Spring Writing Contest
The National Writing Project of Acadiana announces the annual Writes of Spring writing contest for young authors. The contest is open to students from grades one through twelve. Teachers are encouraged to submit worthy samples of their students' work, or students may submit their own work directly. Only one entry per student will be judged. Each division of the contest includes three categories: poetry, fiction, and nonfiction.

Mission Statement

The mission at L. J. Alleman Middle School is to provide an education that allows every student the opportunity to grow and develop to his/her fullest potential while acquiring knowledge, attitudes, and skills that foster lifelong learning.

The L. J. Alleman Arts Academy prepares students for academic success enriched by the arts.

School Colors

Our school is represented by the colors of blue and white:
          BLUE represents loyalty, perseverance, and truth, and
          WHITE represents virtue, peace, and sincerity.

School Mascot

The mascot of LJA is the Trojan warrior.  It represents the qualities of the ideal Trojan, which are to be "faithful, scholarly, skillful, courageous, and ambitious."  Known as great warriors, the ancient Trojans displayed the qualities of endurance and determined energy.
