Frequently Asked Questions 1. How do I register for a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to begin using SEMS? To register and receive a PIN, you must call automated system at 337/521-7600 and press the STAR KEY <*> when the system ask for your Personal Identification Number (PIN). Once this key is pressed, it will activiate the registration mode and send you through a series of voice prompts to recieve a PIN. NOTE: YOUR PIN IS NOT YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER 2. I have a Personal Identification Number (PIN), however, I have forgotten/misplaced it. How do I retrieve a new one or my old one? To retrieve your PIN, call into the system (337/521-7600) as if you were registering as a new user (press the STAR KEY <*> when asked to enter your PIN). Next, the system will ask you to enter your Social Security Number (SSN). Once your SSN is entered, the system will recognize that you already have a PIN assigned and allow you to review the assigned number. 3. I have decided that I no longer wish to be a substitute for the Lafayette Parish School System, what should I do? If you no longer wish to substitute with the Lafayette Parish School System, you should contact the SEMS Office immediately and request that your name be removed from the system. This request typically takes one (1) to two (2) business days to become effective. 4. When using Webcenter, what is my USER ID? Your USER ID for Webcenter is your telephone number listed by the system without the area code or dashes. 5. What employees are required to record their absences in SEMS? All employees, with the exception of substitutes and tutors, are required to report their absences in SEMS. 6. How do I find out who my SEMS Administrator is for my site? To find out who your SEMS Administrator is for your site, please click on the following link to be directed to the SEMS ADMINISTRATORS PAGE. 7. If more than one employee/substitute shares the same telephone number listed in SEMS, is the USER ID the same for both individuals? No, the second person added to the system using the same telephone number will have a zero (0) at the end of their telephone number. 8. How far in advance can an employee report an absence?
