Request for Out of Zone Exception

The Lafayette Parish School System does not have a "hardship" provision for enrolling students into schools outside of their assigned school zones. Any parent wishing to request a zone exception must make the request in writing to:

Katherine Landry, Deputy Superintendent
Lafayette Parish School System
P.O. Box 2158
Lafayette, LA 70502

Your request must include the following information:
1. Your name
2. Your child's name
3. Your current address
4. A working phone number at which we may contact you
5. The school which your child is zoned for
6. The school for which you are requesting permission to transfer to
7. The reason for the request for out of zone placement

The Lafayette Parish School System has a Zone Exception Review Committee.  You will be notified when the committee is scheduled to review your case and will be invited to attend.  The committee will review your request for a zone exception and respond to you by letter.  Please contact Betty Broussard at (337) 521-7100 for assistance.
