Louisiana Regents’ Scholar College Preparation Curriculum

Students are required to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 after 7 semesters to qualify.
Students who qualify for this award will receive a certificate and a sticker on their transcript.
English    4 units    English I, II, III, and IV

Mathematics    3 units    Algebra I (or Algebra I part 1 and Algebra I part 2);  Algebra II; Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, or a comparable advanced math

Science    3 units    Biology; Chemistry; and one of the following: Earth Science, Environmental Science, Physical Science, Biology II, Chemistry II, Physics, Physics II, or Physics for Technology

Social Studies    3 units    1/2 unit in Civics, 1/2 unit in Free Enterprise; American History; and one of the following:  World History, World Geography, or Western Civilization

Foreign Language    2 units    Both units must be in the same language

Fine Arts Survey    1 unit    Two units in the same performance courses of music, dance, or theater; or two units in visual art or studio art may be substituted for Fine Arts Survey.  Students may also substitute one unit of an elective from among the other subjects listed above in the core curriculum

Computer Literacy    1/2 unit    Computer Science or Business Computer Applications may be substituted for this 1/2 unit.  Students may also substitute 1/2 unit of an elective from among the other subjects listed above Fine Arts Survey

Electives    6.5 units
