Academy of Information Technology Carencro High School Advanced Web Mastering Grade 11-12 943334 Credit: .5 This class will cover cascading style sheets, web animation, and streaming media and will introduce setting up and administering web servers. Database connectivity, web data entry, and a variety of web scripting and programming will be covered. Databases Grade 11-12 943404 Credit: .5 This class will cover the different types of databases and the major operations on databases: creating forms, sorting, querying, and creating repors. Students will be introduced to standard query language and to database programming and web page connectivity. Video Game Design Grade 11-12 943454 Credit: .5 This course will cover computer programming required for video games. The use of sounds, textures, graphics, and animation will be covered. Game design and playability, use of objects, game interface, game testing, and quality control will be integrated into the units. The history of video games and the types and uses of video games will be covered. Computer Animation Grade 11-12 943504 Credit: .5 This class will provide a foundation in creating video-based, computer animation, using 3-D models, props, and backgrounds. Students will use pre-defined models and actions and will also create their own. Students will lip synch models with dialogue, use flocking techniques to simulate a large number of models, and will create videos using composites of several animations and live action. A history of animation and animation terminology will be presented. A+ / Net+ Certification Study Grade 11-12 943554 Credit: 1 This course will cover content necessary to gain industry certification in A+ (computer maintenance and repair) and NET+ (networking principles and topics). Topics will include computer hardware, compuer software, computer troubleshooting, general networking principles, and network topics. After completion of this class, students should be able to pass the A+ and NET+ tests. Career Academy Summer InternshipProgram Grade (summer between 11th and 12th grade) 943604 Credit: .5 This program is an exploratory internship experience, which provides an opportunity for students to work in an information technology environment. Emphasis will be placed on developing interpersonal skills, work ethics, and relevant skills of the workplace and an understanding of the selected career field of study.
