File: CEA QUALIFICATIONS OF SUPERINTENDENT To be eligible for appointment as parish superintendent, the applicant must hold a valid Louisiana certificate authorizing him to serve as superintendent. He must have had five years of administrative experience, with at least three of the five within the five-year period immediately preceding the date of election to the office of parish superintendent. He must also have a master's degree, including 12 semester hours of professional education. The superintendent shall not be required to be a qualified elector or a resident of Lafayette Parish or the State of Louisiana.
