AHS Student Council

Sponsors: Ms. Amy Kerner and Ms. Kathy Roy

Meetings are held the first Monday of each month in room 703.

Purpose

The purpose of student government at Acadiana High School is to :

  • foster a spirit of cooperation among student body and faculty
  • promote student participation
  • encourage/coordinate activities
  • build school spirit
  • promote student leadership
  • initiate and carry out projects for the betterment of the school and community

Membership

To participate in student government at Acadiana High School, students must maintain the following:

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • No suspensions or recommended expulsions

Requirements for Student Council

  • Candidates for President must have served on Student Council for at least on previous year
  • President and Vice President must be seniors
  • Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, and Parliamentarian may be sophomores, juniors, or seniors
