WELCOMEto the S.E.A.S. Program where we offer educational services to special education students in grades K-12 who have been removed from their home school through the disciplinary I.E.P. committee. Our goal is to teach Boy’s Town Social Skills to our students, which will improve their behavior and allow them to return to their home school. The following information is a brief summary of the SEAS program.
REFERRAL Upon receipt of an IEP from the discipline committee, you will be scheduled for an intake. A SEAS teacher will interview you and your child and will provide you with all information pertaining to the program.
PROGRAM SPECIFICS Your child will be taught academics through the same curriculum as he had at his base school. To teach appropriate social skills, all students are instructed in the Boys’ Town Well Managed Classroom Model. Daily point sheets are sent home informing parents of their child’s behavior and academic performance.
EVALUATION Through the Boys’ Town program your child will earn points each day in targeted behavior areas. A Crisis Intervention Teacher, a Social Worker and the assigned special education teacher will review each students’ point sheets when the student reaches performance goals. Upon completion of the program an exit IEP will be scheduled with the student’s base school.
