ACT Workshops LSUE will host several ACT Saturday Workshops this spring. English/Reading Workshops will be held January 16th, March 13th, and May 29th. Interested in attending Southeastern University in Hammond? I am now seeking students who may be intersted in applying for the EXCEL Scholarship at SLU. You must have at least a 2.5 GPA and demonstrate strong student leadership. Please come by guidance and let me know so that I can give you the application. Louisiana Lions' Camp - A summer camp that provides the services to mentally and physically disabled children is looking for high school students to serve as camp counselors for seven weeks over the summer. The group is looking for sincere and responsible young people to fill these positions. Graduating seniors can apply for one of 10 $500, and 4 $1,000 scholarships which are awarded at the end of the season. Download the application at www.lionscamp.org. UL Lafayette Engineering and Technology Expo Day (E&T) The UL College of Engineering will host an expo day on Wednesday March 10th from 8:00 to 1:00. This is an opportunity for juniors and seniors interested in Engineering to tour the college and get a close up look at what this field has to offer. You can arrive at any time during the day. Acadiana Alumnae Panhellenic Senior Informational Social (SIS) - This organization encourages high school senior girls to participate in sorroity recruitment and assissts them in the recruitment process. The purpose of the social is to provide specific information regarding recruitment and provide girls with the opportunity to meet with representatives from each sorrority at UL Lafayette and LSU. This event will be held on Saturday March 13th from 2:00-4:00 at the UL Lafayette Alumni House on 600 East St. Mary Blvd. For more information, call Katie Ferguson at 207-3135. LSU Summer Scholars Program - This is an eight-week summer program that prepares minority students to make a successful transition from high school to LSU. Students selected will enroll in 6 hours of coursework, attend study groups, participate in social activities, and live on-campus. To apply you must be a member of an under-represented minority group, be admitted to LSU, be available for the entire 8 week session and plant to continue enrollment and graduate from LSU.
