Carencro Middle HEAT Team Overall Winner in Fall Competition

For the second year in a row, Carencro Middle students have claimed the title of Number 1 "HEAT" team in Lafayette Parish.  They were presented with a gold cup by the Lafayette Parish School Board and the director of the program, Dr. Peter Sheppard.

HEAT stands for "Hands-on Exposure to Algebraic Topics."  It is a contest participated in by Middle School Algebra I students.
There were over 150 participants in this year's competition.  In addition to placing first as a team, five of the twenty team members placed in the top fifteen.  Tyler Conner placed 2nd, Blake Guidry placed 5th, Cory Lafleur placed 11th and Destiny Venable and Kyleigh Trahan tied for 12th place.

Congratulations to all students.  The Carencro Middle faculty, staff, and students are very proud.
