IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING RAFFLE TICKETS We are currently selling raffle tickets to help defray the cost of our TRANSPORTATION to Disney. ALL proceeds from ticket sales will be applied toward transportation or additional expenses that may arise. Raffle tickets can only be distributed to parents, not children. Please feel free to pick up tickets at the CMS Band Room. Raffle Ticket money is DUE March 15. Ticket money YOU raise will be applied to the transportation cost for your child and you if you are serving as a chaperone. So, the more you sell, the less your transportation cost is. Our transportation cost for Disney is $13,500.00. The Band will contribute $6,000.00 toward the cost, reducing the total to $7,500.00. In addition, $1,500.00 in donations will be applied, further reducing the cost to $6,000.00, or about $95.00 per person. Raffle tickets may still be sold after the March 15th deadline. However, the money turned in after March 15 will be applied to the general funds of the Band Account, and we will certainly need the additional money to replace the money the band is spending for the trip. So please, continue to sell the tickets to help the band generate much needed revenue. Also, you may want to turn in ticket money once you reach $50.00 or $100.00, just in case it would be misplaced or lost.
DISNEY ANNOUNCEMENTS 1. Disney Rooms are paid for! We sent our check to lock in 20 rooms at Disney for the four nights we are staying. 2. Our next payment will be for our Park Tickets. We will mail our payment Thursday so we need to get your ticket money in the amount of $153.66 for the PARK HOPPER TICKETS in by Wednesday morning. Each child will be given an amount of money owed for the ticket based upon money raised by each individual for our candy sales fundraiser. For many of you who participated, your cost will be lower than the $153.66. I will have the ticket amount you owe ready Monday. Please report to the band room to pick up the short letter. 3. Raffle tickets are available in the band room. Each ticket book has to be accounted for and can only be distributed to Parents. Ticket money will be used to reduce the cost of your trip. When you have sold at least 50 tickets, you may want to turn the money in rather than holding it so you can receive credit. Of course, you may still sell tickets afterwards. 4. For those who are interested in food vouchers, I have requested information from Disney and will alert you when I hear from them about the prices. As for the rest of us, we will stick to the original plan of sandwiches during the day and dining out in the evening to reduce our food costs. 5. Room Assignments: I will start taking names for room assignments tomorrow. Boys and girls will be housed four to a room. Parents/chaperones who want to stay with their children and or/spouse need to let me know as soon as possible so I can submit the room roster to Disney. Please note: The room fee of $145.77 was based upon four in a room. If you elect to have less than four, your rate will be higher. For instance, if two parents and a child stay in a room for four nights, the total cost is $583.08, or 194.36 for each of the three occupants. IF there are only two people to a room, your room cost is still $583.08, or $291.54 for each person. 6. Odd numbers. Let's say that we have nineteen girls rooming. That would require five rooms. Four rooms would each have four girls, but the fourth room would only have three. Do the three girls have to pay more? No. The band will pay the additional fee. 7. I want to send out several kudos: First, thank you to Mrs. Dickinson for helping me at school for counting, and recording the money coming in from our fund raisers and Disney fees. More than $36,000.00 will be collected, counted and recorded, with each penny accounted for. This is a very tedious task that requires lots of patience and pressure to insure the collection process goes smoothly. Thank you Tonya for your help! Second, thank you to the parents who have worked hard to support the band by serving as chaperones in our parades and leading the fund raising activities. Great job, and thank you for your patience as well. Third, Kudos to the Band! We had to learn and memorize music for our Black History Program in two days, and WE DID! The band sounded great Friday and I received many compliments from students and faculty members for ourperformance of THE BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC. GREAT JOB! A special thank you to Nick and Jarron from Carencro High School for playing with us and making us sound even better! Thank you, guys! 8. Please review the attached Disney Roster and advise me if I need to make any changes. Thank you!
