CAREER ACADEMIES

In an attempt to give students a more exciting and fulfilling educational experience and improve the ethnic diversity of its schools, the Lafayette Parish School System offers Career Academies at the high school level.

These schools offer specialized programs or themes which give students the core curriculum required by state guidelines in the context of a subject in which the student has an interest.  Students receive the instruction they need in the context of a subject they love.  The Academies offered to students include:  Academy of Banking and Finance, Academy of Design, Academy of Health Careers, Academy of Information Technology, Academy of Engineering, Academy of Travel and Tourism, CLK-IT and the Sheriff's Career Academy.

All students in the parish are eligible to apply for admission to any Academy, although they must complete the application process.
