Senior Infromation

Any senior who receives any Monetary awards or scholarships should bring the letter or announcement to guidance. We will make a copy and list your award in the senior program. DEADLINE IS MID APRIL

If you are planning to attend a college or university or trying to get the TOPS award and you hve not taken the ACT (or need a higher score) you only have a few more opportunities this school year(April and June). What are you waiting for?

Apply online at http://www.actstudent.org or a paper form is available from Ms. Broussard. Fee waivers are available for qualifying students. The deadline for the April 14 test is March 9. This is the last qualifying ACT for the full 8 semesters of the TOPS Opportunity Award. Please put the Comeaux High School Code on ACT app 191417. FOr TOPS to receive your scores you must put the TOPS code 1595 and have your social security number on your ACT application.

Please note: SAT Test is also an option for all of the above. Apply at http://www.collegeboard.com

Any student who needs a letter of recommendation from Ms. Broussard will need to bring a resume and the application at least 2 to 3 weeks prior to the deadline, as I get many such requests in the second semester. NEVER wait until the week the application is due. Only simple applications, that do not need anything but GPA and ACT scores, may be completed the same week.

Any senior who still needs to pass a portion of the GEE in order to graduate (or is not sure if passed GEE) needs to come in to Guidance and speak to Ms. Broussard sometime before March. Any Senior who is at risk to fail a course needed for graduation needs to come to Guidance and speak to Ms. Broussard.

Please review your semester report card carefully and notify Ms. Broussard of any incomplete or incorrect grades ASAP. This information will be transcripted to your permanent record on January 20, so all errors must be corrected now. Seventh semester transcripts should be available in guidance.

Seniors should be finishing up their applications for admissions to colleges and universities, attending campus visits, and making housing arrangments if living away from home. Waiting til the last minute is NEVER a good idea. If you are applying to a college that requires a mid year report it is your responsibility to bring the report to Ms. Broussard in a timely manner with your portion filled out and a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Please feel free to come see Ms. Broussard in Guidance from 8:00 - 3:30 for any assistance you need to help you to be successful this year and/or to plan for your future education or employment. I truly enjoy working with your and look forward to seeing you. If I am not available, make sure you fill out the "request to see counselor form", and I will contact you as soon as possible.
