STUDENT LEADERSHIP POSITIONS

(JOB DESCRIPTIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS)

Flag Leader ( 1 flag raisers, 1 to remove the flag daily).   3rd-5th

Job Description:

  • Raise the flag in the morning before 7:40 am

  • Remove the flag before 7:50 pm

  • Reports to Mr. Morris

Job Qualifications

  • Flag raisers - arrives at school by 7:35 am

  • Flag Remover - attends an after school program such as Extended Learning or YMCA

  • Willing to be Respectful to adults




NEWS CASTERS (6) 4th-5th

Job Description:  Present the morning announcements in the manner that a news caster presents the news.  Reports to Ms. Bourque

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent Speaker

  • Outgoing personality

  • Enjoys presenting to others

  • Great Reader

  • Creative

  • Outstanding Discipline ( ANY major/minor discipline referrals will be replaced)


GREETER LEADER (6) 3rd -5th


Job Description: Greets students in the morning during arrival. Greeters also greet parents and other visitors during school activities.

  • Greet students in the morning and escort parents to the front office.

  • Greets guests at special events by saying, “Good Morning! Welcome to Ernest Gallet Elementary!”

  • Shake hands with guests as they enter, and greets students in the car rider line.

  • Reports to Ms. Rhoades



Job Qualifications

  • Arrives by 7:35 am

  • Public Speaking

  • Firm Hand Shake

  • Outgoing personality



CAFETERIA MANAGER (1)


Job Description:

  • Help check for ID’ s

  • Assist in making sure everyone keeps the cafeteria clean

  • Reports to Ms. Bizzio


Job Qualifications:

  • Arrives at 7:25

  • Leader of Cafeteria Behavior


CAFETERIA NAPKIN MANAGER (1)


Job Description:

  • Ensures that students have napkins and other necessary items during breakfast

  • Assist in making sure everyone keeps the cafeteria clean

  • Reports to Ms. Bizzio


Job Qualifications:

  • Arrives at 7:25

  • Leader of Cafeteria Behavior


HALL MONITOR (4) 3rd-5th

(Two for East Wing, Two for West Wing)


Job Description:

  • Make sure everyone is being his or her very best in the hallway and showing great leadership

  • Assist any students that need help finding their class

  • Reports to Mrs. Moncrieffe

Job Qualifications:

  • Arrive at 7:25

  • Leader of Hallway Behavior

  • Assist parents and students in locating classes

  • Assist younger students requiring assistance in the hallway



PHOTOGRAPHERS (3) 3rd -5th

Job Description:

  • Responsible for taking photographs of school events and grade level activities

  • Reports to Mrs. Sanders

Job Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of a digital camera

  • Responsible with equipment

TAGGED ON TUESDAY SIGN HOLDER (4)  3rd - 5th

Job Description:

  • Holds a point club sign and assists with directing students in lining up in the correct point club line.

  • Reports to Mrs. Landry

Job Qualifications:

  • Organization skills

  • Ability to stand quietly and lead others to do the same

TAGGED ON TUESDAY TAG GREETER (1) 3rd - 5th

Job Description:

  • Hands out the correct point club tag to each student

  • Reports to Mrs. Landry

Job Qualifications:

  • Locate and select the appropriate tag

  • Efficiently distribute tags to the appropriate student


TAGGED ON TUESDAY RECORD KEEPER (1) 3rd - 5th


Job Description:

  • Highlights/checks off the names of the students that received their point club AR tag

  • Reports to Mrs. Landry

Job Qualifications:

  • Able to read and select student names

  • Organization skills


LIBRARY CLERK (3) 5th Grade

Job Description:

  • Assist the librarian in returning books to their appropriate place on the book shelves.

  • Reports to Mrs. Sanders

Job Qualifications:

  • Attends an after school program such as the YMCA or Extended Learning

  • Ability to place things in alphabetical order

  • Ability to read and place decimals in the correct number order

  • organization skills


SYNERGY MC (8)

2 per grade level 2nd-5th

Job Description: Leads their grade level druing Synergy Assemblies

  • Reports to Ms. Bourque

Job Qualifications:

  • Outgoing personality

  • Good communication skills

  • Spirit Leader



















Dear Parents,

    Our job as educators is to ensure that your child is responsible and is prepared for their future.  Part of being prepared for the future is having a job; therefore, students will be applying for a school job and taking part in an interview to acquire a school job position.  Each student will fill out and turn in an application and then will be interviewed and properly trained for his/her job.  Students will be assessed on their job performance.  If they are not meeting the job expectations then they will be placed on probation.  Exemplary discipline is a requirement.  Any student receiving a major or minor office referral will be required to resign from his/her position. This is teaching children to take responsibility for themselves as well as teaching them how to interview and keep a job.  We are enclosing an application for you to review and to help your child fill out as well as a description of each job.  Please indicate below that you give your child permission to apply and interview for and maintain a school job. All Applications and parent letters are due Friday, September 9, 2016. This is going to be a great learning experience for the students and we look forward to seeing them learn and grow throughout the year!
