Chamber Donates Funds to LHS Health Academy

| The Board heard from Steve Jones, from the Health Care Committee of the Chamber of Commerce, who donated $7,000 to the Health Care Academy at Lafayette High School. The funds were donated for the purpose of purchasing student materials to be used in the health academy. Lafayette High plans to spend $1,750 per year for the next four years on student materials, such as software for computer labs. Stacey Thibodeaux, health academy director at Lafayette High, was on hand to receive the donation. |

National Honor Society
Description: Recognizes students for their academic achievement and promotes service and leadership at school. Assists with academic pep ralley. Banquet will be held on May 2, 2006. Meetings are held every first Tuesday of the month in the auditorium.
