LHS Musicians Named to National Honor Band
|
| Two Lafayette High instrumental musicians, Ed Coussan-euphonium and Catherine Landers-flute, have been named to the National Honor Band of America (HBA) . Sponsored by Bands of America, HBA will perform in Indianapolis March 22-26, at the the National Concert Band Festival. The most perstigious of all high school honor band formations, HBA selects through a series of competitive auditions. Its members are from throughout the nation. |

LPSS Schools The Lafayette Parish School System includes 43 schools: 21 Elementary Schools, 12 Middle Schools and 5 High Schools. LPSS also has 5 Schools of Choice, 6 High School Academies, French Immersion, N.P. Moss Annex, Gifted, Alternative Programs and the L.J. Alleman Arts Academy. Recently, the Board recognized 21 schools for their 2004-2005 School Performance Scores. Nineteen, or 50 percent, of the district schools are eligible for rewards. In addition, four LPSS schools have achieved a Four-Star Performance Label. Two of them are eligible for awards - Lafayette High and Milton Elementary; the other two have an SPS higher than 120 - Broadmoor and Woodvale Elementary.
