Guidelines for Administering Bus Discipline

Level III

First Offense
Report filled out and turned over to the proper authority, transportation designee to notify parent/guardian by phone or in writing.  Five day suspension of bus riding privileges.  Conference with bus driver, administrator, parent/guardian, and student.  If parent/guardian fails to attend conference, student will remain suspended until parent/guardian conferences.

Second Offense
Report filled out and turned over to the proper authority, transportation designee to notify parent/guardian by phone or in writing.  Ten day suspension of bus riding privileges.  Conference with bus driver, administrator, parent/guardian, and student.  If parent/guardian fails to attend conference, student will remain suspended until parent/guardian conferences.

Third Offense
Report filled out and turned over to the proper authority, transportation designee to notify parent/guardian by phone or in writing.  Thirty day suspension of bus riding privileges.  Conference with driver, administrator, parent/guardian, and student.  If parent fails to attend conference, student will remain suspended until parent/guardian conferences.

Fourth Offense
Report filled out and turned over to the proper authority, transportation designee to notify parent/guardian by phone or in writing.  Suspension of bus riding privileges for the remainder of the year or for four months (carried over to the next school year) whichever is greater.
