Employment Opportunities in Teaching

We are accepting applications for teaching positions year-round.  In the Fall of 2005, LPSS moved to exclusively accept online applications for teaching positions.  Read the announcement for details.  Teaching positions are filled as they become available.  Generally, classroom teaching positions are not individually posted; exceptions are being made for hard-to-fill positions.  If a teaching position is posted, the posting will be published on our website Wednesday by 4:30 PM.  We also announce the posting on our Job Hot-line at (337) 521-7444.  Hard-to-fill teaching positions will be posted on Teach Louisiana.

Our hiring process is easy to follow and straightforward.  Once an application is received online, human resources staff sorts the application according to area of certification and desired teaching preference of the applicant.  When a principal has an open teaching position, s/he requests contact information of eligible applicants for the position.  Human Resources forwards contact information for the appropriate applicants to the principal who in return invites applicants for a school-based interview.  After the interview process is completed, principals communicate their hiring recommendation to Human Resources.  The candidate is contacted and employment issues are finalized.  For questions regarding applications for teaching positions, please email us.
