Welcome to Lafayette Parish School System Emergency Hotline for LPSS School System 521-7777
Hurricane Preparedness All schools and administrative offices of the Lafayette Parish School System will be closed on Tuesday, Sept. 2, due to expected landfall of Hurricane Gustav. Much is still uncertain about the path of the storm. Under the circumstances, Lafayette Parish School administrators believe it is best for all concerned to close our schools on Tuesday. Parents and employees are being notified through Connect ED (outbound calling system) phone calls and email. Administrators will decide on Tuesday if any closures will be necessary beyond that day. Parents and employees will be notified through Connect Ed phone calls and email, and through the local media. We will also post important information on our website at www.lpssonline.com. Please continue to refer to this website for further school updates.
To the Parents of Students in grades K-3 If your child was scheduled to take the DRA reading assessment on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 OR on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, due to Hurricane Gustave and the closing of schools in the Lafayette Parish School System, these tests will be postponed. Your child is rescheduled to take the DRA reading assessment on either Tuesday, September 9, 2008 OR on Wednesday, September 10, 2008. You will follow the same testing schedule as originally planned. If you have any questions regarding your child’s DRA testing, please contact your child’s individual school.
