2022-2023 Recruitment Stipend for Classroom Teachers
A. The teacher must be a new hire or in-district transfer, with an effective hire or transfer date between August 3, 2022, and September 30, 2022, who fills a full-time classroom teacher position at one of the following schools:
1. Dr. Raphael A. Baranco Elementary School
2. J.W. Faulk Elementary School
3. Alice Boucher Elementary School
4. Lafayette Middle School
5. Acadian Middle School
6. Carencro High School
7. Northside High School
8. Lerosen Preparatory School
9. Evangeline Elementary School
10. S.J. Montgomery Elementary School
11. Carencro Middle School
12. Paul Breaux Middle School
B. The teacher must be certified to teach or actively seeking final certification (Practitioner License).
C. If the teacher was employed by a Louisiana public school system (including LPSS) for the 2021- 2022 school year, he/she must provide evidence of an Effective Proficient or Highly Effective overall Compass evaluation rating. If an overall Compass evaluation rating is not available due to unreleased state testing data, Compass observations with an average of Effective Proficient or Highly Effective may be used.
The total stipend amount will be $5,000, and it will be paid as a lump sum with the next end of month payroll following thirty (30) days from the teacher’s effective date of hire or transfer. In consideration for the Board’s payment of this stipend, the teacher must remain in the qualifying position for a minimum of two (2) full school years following his/her receipt of such payment and execute a written agreement relative to same.
Teachers who qualify for the 2022-2023 Recruitment Stipend for classroom teachers may also be eligible for the 2022-2023 Retention Stipend for classroom teachers.
This Recruitment Stipend shall be a one-time stipend approved for the 2022-2023 school year only and this action considered an amendment to the 2022-2023 salary schedule
2022-2023 Returning Stipend for Classroom Teachers
A. The teacher must be currently: (i) eligible for a voluntary transfer pursuant to Board policy File: GBM, and (ii) employed as a full-time classroom teacher at one of the following schools:
1. Dr. Raphael A. Baranco Elementary School
2. J.W. Faulk Elementary School
3. Alice Boucher Elementary School
4. Lafayette Middle School
5. Acadian Middle School
6. Carencro High School
7. Northside High School
8. Lerosen Preparatory School
9. Evangeline Elementary School
10. S.J. Montgomery Elementary School
11. Carencro Middle School
12. Paul Breaux Middle School
B. The teacher must be certified to teach or actively seeking final certification (Practitioner License).
C. The teacher must provide evidence of an Effective Proficient or Highly Effective overall Compass Evaluation Rating. If an overall Compass Evaluation Rating is not available due to unreleased state testing data, Compass Observations with an average of Effective Proficient or Highly Effective may be used.
D. The teacher must have completed the 2021-2022 school year with fourteen (14) or fewer leave days taken. This applies to any type of leave taken for any reason except for Professional Leave and Jury Duty.
The total stipend amount will be $5,000, and it will be paid as a lump sum to teachers who qualify as of August 31, 2022. The stipend will be distributed in a separate deposit on the same day as the September 2022 payroll deposit. In consideration for the Board’s payment of this stipend, the teacher must remain in the qualifying position for two (2) full school years following his/her receipt of such payment and execute a written agreement relative to same.
Teachers who qualify for the 2022-2023 Returning Stipend for classroom teachers may also be eligible for the 2022-2023 Retention Stipend for classroom teachers.
This Returning Stipend shall be a one-time stipend approved for the 2022-2023 school year only and this action considered an amendment to the 2022-2023 salary schedule.
2022-2023 Retention Stipend for Classroom Teachers
A. The teacher must be a returning employee, or a new hire or in-district transfer between August 3, 2022 and September 30, 2023, who fills a full-time Classroom Teacher position at one of the following schools:
1. Dr. Raphael A. Baranco Elementary School
2. J.W. Faulk Elementary School
3. Alice Boucher Elementary School
4. Lafayette Middle School
5. Acadian Middle School
6. Carencro High School
7. Northside High School
8. Lerosen Preparatory School
9. Evangeline Elementary School
10. S.J. Montgomery Elementary School
11. Carencro Middle School
12. Paul Breaux Middle School
B. The teacher must be certified to teach or actively seeking final certification (Practitioner’s License).
C. If the teacher was employed by a Louisiana public school system (including LPSS) for the 2021- 2022 school year, he/she must provide evidence of an Effective Proficient or Highly Effective overall Compass evaluation rating. If an overall compass evaluation rating is not available due to unavailable state testing data, Compass observations with an average of Effective Proficient or Highly Effective may be used.
D. The teacher must complete the relevant semester with five (5) or fewer days missed. This applies to any type of leave taken for any reason except for Professional Leave and Jury Duty. A teacher may be eligible and qualify for less than the total stipend amount depending on satisfaction of the listed criteria each semester and/or school year.
E. The teacher must remain employed at the same school through the last day of the relevant semester.
The total stipend amount will be $4,000, and it will be paid out over two (2) years as follows:
o $1,000 paid in January 2023 (for the Fall 2022 semester)
o $1,000 paid in June 2023 (for the Spring 2023 semester)
o $1,000 paid in January 2024 (for the Fall 2023 semester)
o $1,000 paid in June 2024 (for the Spring 2024 semester)
This Retention Stipend shall be a one-time stipend approved for the 2022-2023 school year only (paid out over two years) and this action considered an amendment to the 2022-2023 salary schedule.
