We want to welcome our students back to school tomorrow, Tuesday, January 4, 2022. With the rise in COVID-19 cases in the community, we want to make our return to school as safe as possible. Therefore, although not required, we are highly encouraging the use of masks on school campuses. Masks on buses are still required.
LPSS continues to have safety protocols in place on each of our campuses such as social distancing to the greatest extent possible, limiting large gatherings, and restricting non-essential visitors. If your child experiences any COVID symptoms, keep them home and do not send them to school. This precautionary measure will slow down the spread of the virus and help keep schools open.
With winter weather upon us, we want students to be warm and comfortable at bus stops, as they get out of vehicles, transition from class to class, and play outside. As per LPSS policy, when temperatures dip below 38° F, students may wear cold-weather attire.
Cold-weather attire must be school appropriate and includes:
- Long pants such as jeans, sweat pants, corduroys, etc. (Leggings and yoga pants are not allowed)
- Layered clothing is encouraged
- Knit caps, scarves, and gloves are allowed outdoors
Cold-weather attire days will be announced on our LPSS website as well as our district Facebook page by 4:30 p.m. for the next day. If this announcement is not posted by 4:30 p.m., then students will return to the regular dress code on the following day of school.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to welcoming students back tomorrow, January 4th.
