LPSS Superintendent Appoints Chief Academic Officer and Chief Administration
Lafayette Parish Public School System Superintendent Dr. Donald Aguillard has made appointments to two key positions: Chief Academic Officer and Chief Administrative Officer. The newly created positions are part of the superintendent’s reorganization plan and will streamline operations at the Central Office.
Annette Samec will serve the District as the Chief Academic Officer for Lafayette Parish School System. Ms. Samec earned a Bachelor of Science degree from The State University of New York, a Master of Arts from Southwest Texas State University, and a Specialist’s endorsement from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. Ms. Samec has 33 years of experience in Education to bring to this position. She has served as a teacher for 14 years in Physical Education and Mathematics. She has served eight years as an Assistant Principal at Carencro High School and nine years as
Principal at Carencro High School. She currently is the Principal of Alice Boucher Elementary School where she has served for the past two years.
Joe Craig will serve as the District Chief Administrative Officer. Mr. Craig earned a Bachelor of Animal Science degree from Purdue University, a Master’s in Wildlife and Fisheries from Louisiana State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree and Specialist’s endorsement from The University of Louisiana, Lafayette. He also brings a world of experience to this position. He has served as a Science Teacher at Paul Breaux Middle School, an Assistant Principal at Carencro Middle School, Assistant Principal at Acadiana High School, and for 10 years he has served as Principal at Comeaux High School. He was recently appointed Director of Career and Technical Education for the Lafayette Parish School System.
