As a reminder, the online application for students to attend Lafayette Online Academy (LOA) in the 2021-2022 school year closes today, April 6, 2021, at 4:30 p.m. in accordance with other LPSS Magnet Academies.
Student admission will be granted after a thorough review of academic standing, school attendance, and participation/performance in state/national assessments. Any extenuating circumstances will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and an appeals process will be in place to review student applications. All applications received after the initial window has closed, or those not meeting academic standards, will be placed on a waiting list for possible appointments at a later date. As our academic teams work to better align face-to-face instruction to online learning, our virtual learning model and programs may change.
As an important reminder, waivers granted to current LOA students in the 2020-2021 school year reserving their seat in a Magnet Academy will expire at the of this school year. Waivers to hold seats in the Magnet Academies will not be granted in the 2021-2022 school year. Therefore, students who want to continue their path in a Magnet Academy will need to exit LOA at the conclusion of the 2020-21 school year.
