Important information and deadlines

Now that we are beginning the third nine weeks, we want to remind our students of some important information and deadlines.

High School Students

  • Now that the third nine-week grading period has started, LOA students will not be allowed to transfer back to in-person learning unless approved by the school under extenuating circumstances.

  • Students should complete at least 80% of their courses by Thursday, April 15, 2021, to have the best opportunity to be prepared for the LEAP 2025 (formerly called End of Course (EOC) tests) which open on that date.

  • As a reminder, 20% of a student's final grade is calculated by utilizing the LEAP 2025 scores (Pupil Progression Plan page 23). Final grades are permanently listed on high school transcripts.

  • To earn credit for an online course, students must reach 100% progress by the last scheduled day of the course.

  • The State Department of Education has not waived any requirements for testing as a graduation requirement.

  • Students that do not complete a course or fail a course - meaning receiving an F as their grade in Edgenuity - will need to attend summer school.

  • High school students are classified in the following grades according to credits earned:

    • 9th Grade: 0-4.5 Credits

    • 10th Grade: 5-11.5 Credits

    • 11th Grade: 12-18.5 Credits

    • 12th Grade: 19+ Credits

High School Seniors

  • As a reminder for high school seniors, the state department of education has not waived any requirements for graduation this year. High School Graduation is based on completing all graduation requirements:

    • Passing all required academic coursework

    • Passing the necessary assessments such as LEAP 2025.

    • For Jump Start Students: Earning the required credentials relating their specific Jump Start Pathway

    • Completing the FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid

  • Graduation from high school is based on the number of credits earned. Jump Start TOPS Tech Pathway must earn 23 credits and TOPS University Pathway must earn 24 credits to graduate.

Any questions regarding high school or graduation requirements should be directed to the counselors at the student’s base school.
