Dear Families, in order to provide you with essential information regarding your child’s learning, Lafayette Online Academy is asking all parents to update their Parent Portal account with a valid email address. This is of crucial importance for LOA families in particular, as students will need the information provided to parents via email in order to begin the school year next week. An up-to-date email address is mandatory to receive parent on-boarding and orientation materials that will be emailed directly to parents on or by September 8, 2020. At this time parents, in addition to students, must view and acknowledge important information to continue in the program. Therefore parents or guardians of LOA students must provide a valid email address no later than Monday, September 7 at 6:00 p.m. or their student’s enrollment may be canceled.
Success in Lafayette Online Academy requires daily student and parent involvement and emails; therefore, parents are responsible for ensuring the district has a valid parent email address on each child's account. In addition, the Parent Portal contains valuable information regarding student enrollment.
To update your email address, please log in to the Parent Portal, which can be found on the LPSS website. Once logged in, parents should update their contact information, especially their email address. Please be sure the address is correct and not missing any letters or symbols. If student accounts are linked within your Parent Portal account, updates need only be made once for all students in the household. However, if the parent name associated with each student varies in any way, parents will need to log in separately for each child’s account to update their contact email.
Please note that AOL.com email addresses can NOT be used. If you have never created an account in Parent Portal, you can easily register as a new user online. Please note the PSN number is the last five digits of the student’s Social Security number (no dashes or spaces).
