Proof of Domicile

Important Information to remember. We will collect the proof of domicile during Meet & Greet (August 8th) or you can submit it by email at arromagosa@lpssonline.com/cbricelj@lpssonline.com or give a copy to your homeroom teacher within 30 days after the first day of school.

Proof of Domicile:

Yearly for all students:

All students must submit two (2) previous (May, June, or July 2023, depending on when your bill cycle) month's bills or service statements for a current gas, electric, or water bill with the name and address of the parent/legal guardian printed on the bill. (cable, internet, insurance, etc, is not acceptable).

Schools that have been determined to be near or at capacity (does not include Myrtle Place) shall be required to submit a copy of the domiciliary homestead exemption. Please go to https://lafayetteassessor.com/Property/RealEstateSearch to locate a copy if needed. Parents who lease/rent will submit a copy of a signed lease or rental agreement.

Martial Billeaud Elementary

Broadmoor Elementary

Ernest Gallet Elementary

Green T. Elementary

Middlebrook Elementary

Milton Elementary/Middle

Woodvale Elementary

L. J. Alleman Middle School

Acadiana High School

Lafayette High School

Southside High School

 

For families who live at an address where the utilities are not in their name in order to prove domicile, the parent/legal guardian shall:

• Complete the Lafayette Parish School System Verification Residence Form

• Have it notarized

• Submit a current utility bill in the name of the individual who lives at that address

• Provide one of the following state or federal document(s): (WIC, food stamps,

disability checks, tax documents, i.e., yearly state or federal tax returns that arrive

addressed to the parent or legal guardian at that address.

 

For families not owning their home:

If the parent/legal guardian does not own the home, the secondary proof of domicile must be a different federal or state document other than the document that was used as the primary proof submitted with the Lafayette Parish School System Verification form. (WIC, food stamps, disability checks, tax documents, i.e., yearly state or federal

tax returns)
