Evaluation Procedures

  1. If there is an existing evaluation on file by Pupil Appraisal Services, check it carefully to see if augmentative communication and/or assistive technology has ever been assessed.  If not, refer that student's name to the School Building Level Committee (also knows as the SBLC).  A screening will then be conducted by appropriate personnel.
  2. The Augmentative Communication Team will then complete an evaluation and make appropriate recommendations. 
  3. Upon completion of the evaluation, the appropriate recommendations will be implemented within the child's classroom.  Follow-up assistance will be provided by the Augmentative Team personnel to the classroom  teachers, therapists, parents and students involved.

***Note: On-going assessment will continue to determine the need for changes.
