2020-2021 Teacher Advisory Panel

Application window: February 10, 2020-February 28, 2020

Interim Superintendent Irma D. Trosclair is seeking applicants for her inaugural Teacher Advisory Panel (TAP). Mrs. Trosclair would like to “tap” into the ideas and expertise that our teachers have regarding practices, policies, and procedures. The panel will consist of a diverse group of dedicated educators from throughout the district who will provide an educator’s perspective regarding important topics that impact students and teachers today. The goal of the Teacher Advisory Panel is to collaborate with and provide insight to the interim superintendent and staff to assist them in making better-informed decisions to move the district forward.

TAP will meet throughout the year, with the first meeting planned for May 2020. A formal schedule with location and times to be announced at a later date.

Applications are open from February 10, 2020 through February 28, 2020.

Qualifications and Selection Process:

  • Teacher must have an Effective Emerging or better evaluation
  • Must have a minimum of three years of experience teaching in the Lafayette Parish School System
  • Applications must be complete, including the written responses section
  • The chief academic officer and chief administrative officer will designate a five member committee to select eligible panel members
  • Selection for the panel membership will be done by a lottery process in each category of elementary, middle, and high school teacher
  • Selected panelist will be notified via an acceptance letter that must be signed and returned to the interim superintendent’s office
  • Advisory panel membership is for a one year term
