9th Grade
To enroll at ECA the student...
- Must be a citizen or legal resident of the United States of America.
- Must reside in Lafayette Parish.
- Complete an application online at lafayettechoice.com/apply (or click the Apply Now button)
- Have 7th grade LEAP test scores of at least Mastery in ELA or math, and at least Basic in all other subject areas OR (for private school, home school, and out-of-state students) scores at or above the 70th percentile on a nationally normed standardized test in all ELA and math components.
- Have no final grades lower than a B in all 8th grade core courses (English, math, science, social studies)
- Will be required to attend an information session with the ECA administration before acceptance.
- Have no level III or IV disciplinary infractions, recommendation for expulsion, or attendance at a disciplinary alternative site during the current year.
Attendance to one of the Information Sessions is mandatory for acceptance. At least one parent or guardian must be present at the Information Session and Parent-Student Orientation.
10th Grade
To enroll at ECA, the student...

- Must be on a TOPS University curriculum pathway.
- Have a 9th grade LEAP score of Mastery or above on the Algebra I or English I exam, and a score of Basic on the other.
- Have no grades lower than a B in all 9th grade regular core courses (English, math, science, social studies).
- Have 8th grade LEAP test scores of at least Basic in Social Studies and Science.
- Will be required to attend an information session with the ECA administration before acceptance.
