Principal's Message

My name is Jody Slaughter-Duhon and I am the principal of Edward J. Sam Accelerated School of Lafayette.  I am extremely excited about this new opportunity for the non-traditional students of Lafayette Parish. I know that parents and students have a growing number of choices in educational settings, so I wanted to share some information about myself and our staff.

I have lived in Lafayette Parish my entire life. I attended and graduated from Lafayette Parish Schools. I earned my undergraduate credentials at USL and my Master's Degree at UL Lafayette. Furthermore, I have been an employee of the Lafayette Parish School System for the past 33 years. I say all of this to communicate my commitment to our community and our kids.

The staff of  E. J. Sam are truly invested in the growth and success of our children in Lafayette Parish. We are committed to offering support and guidance to our students and parents as we work to help our kids experience their greatest potential and success. We are eager to find creative methods and strategies to help our students who are looking for a smaller, more personal environment in which to work.
