Starting Fall 2020

This page is meant to give additional information about starting school for the 20-21 school year. It will include information regarding new procedures at school due to COVID-19 and other information related to students coming back to campus.

We look forward to seeing all of our students back on campus on September 8th.

NEW PROCEDURES

Arrival

These videos will show students the procedures for arriving at school in the morning. We are trying to do drop off between 7:25-7:50 in the morning. Students will sanitize their hands and report to class. Breakfast will be picked up in the cafeteria for car riders. Bus riders will be given a breakfast as they leave the bus rider area. Breakfast will be eaten in the classrooms.

Dismissal

These videos will show students the procedures for dismissal in the afternoon. Instruction will stop at 2:10 PM and dismissal will begin. We are looking at doing the car rider line from 2:10-3:00. Families will be assigned a number this year to display in their cars. Our duty person will record the numbers and display them in the classrooms for teachers and students virtually. The students will then walk to car rider. This process will take longer so please be patient as we get the students and families use to the new routine. Individual buses will be called one bus at a time instead of using bells for multiple bus loads.

Walking Across Campus

Walking across campus will look a little different this year. Students will have to wear their masks while in transition and remain socially distanced.

MASKS

Masks will be required for all students (PreK-5th) in transition throughout the day such as arrival and dismissal times. 3rd- 5th grade students will be required to wear their masks throughout the school day unless directed otherwise by their teacher (in a situation where they can be safely socially distanced). PreK - 2nd graders may be required to wear their masks in class depending on the activity. Our counselor for PreK-2nd grade, Ms. Touchet, made a video about wearing a mask this year. It may be helpful for our younger students to help them understand the importance of wearing a mask.
