Students
Pre-K through 3rd graders have weekly music class where they learn rhythms and pitches and how to sing tunefully. They have a lot of fun in class playing instruments, moving to the beat, and singing. K through 3rd perform for many different events and holiday programs.
Fourth grade students have a weekly music class where they are learning to play recorders. At first they make a lot of noise but eventually they make a lot of sweet sounds as they learn to play this pre-band instrument. The top students get to perform in the spring concert in May.
Fifth Grade students have chorus or band every day. Fifth grade chorus students learn to read music and sight reading using the Kodaly solfege system of sight-reading. They present an annual spring concert along with the band in May. This year we will also perform a TALENT SHOW!
