Auto Tech

Credential

Students in the automotive program work towards earning certifications through the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). This is a nationally recognized and accepted credential which demonstrates proof of student knowledge in areas of Automotive Service. The ten areas of ASE Entry-Level Certification offered to our students include:

  • Brakes
  • Steering and Suspension
  • Heating and Air Conditioning
  • General Maintenance and Light Repair
  • Engine Repair
  • Engine Performance
  • Electrical/Electronics
  • Automatic Transmissions
  • Manual Transmissions
  • Automotive Service Technology

SLCC Partnership

All automotive students have the opportunity to earn dual enrollment with SLCC.

Opportunities Upon Completion

Our automotive students are employed in the community as a result of the the Auto Tech Program at the Career Center. Auto Techs start at $9-$13/hour with an estimated 190,000 jobs going unfilled across the country annually.

Students may also continue their education to earn an associate’s degree or company-specific certification.
