Transportation Procedures (Arrival & Dismissal)

Car Rider Area

Tags: Every family will be assigned a car rider tag number and given two tags with this number. This tag dismissal system is for student safety and to keep car rider dismissal efficient. Even if your child is not a car rider every day, please hold on to these tags in case you need them at some point in the year. Please discard last year's tags. This year will be a new color and likely a different number for your family. 

Car Riders: Parents must use the parent drive area behind the school, if you transport your child to or from school (morning or afternoon). You will enter from behind the graveyard, turn left onto Leon Street, then right into the parent drive. Car rider gate will be open from 7:25-7:53 AM. At 7:53 AM, the gate will be closed and you will have to drive to the front of the school to drop-off. If after 7:55AM, you will need to get out of the vehicle to check in your child in the front office. During morning drop-off, please ensure your child is ready to exit the vehicle when you pull up to the gate. This will help keep our line moving. 

Walkers: Walkers are considered students who live in the neighborhood and must have parent permission to walk to/from school. Parents waiting for walkers must wait across the street for their child. 

Bus Riders: Information regarding assigned buses and drivers can be found in Parent Portal. You can also identify your child's bus on the LPSS Website. Notification regarding buses that are late or not running will be sent out via JCampus SMS. Please make sure your phone contacts are up-to-date to receive this important information. 

Changes to Mode of Transportation: Any change to your child's mode of transportation must be sent in writing to the teacher. We cannot accept any transportation changes by phone, email, or electronic message.
