Principal's Message

Welcome LMS Students, Family, Community, and Visitors. It is my honor to serve as principal of Lafayette Middle School. Since my appointment on January 9, 2017, I have been encouraged by the sense of community and oneness that is emitted by both students and faculty. It is my goal as we move forward to continue to strengthen relationships and embody the whole child. This will be achieved through providing students with academic excellence, social-emotional cognizance, and genuine love.

As we embark on new journeys in education, it our focus to embrace the past and build upon a future dedicated to helping all of our students to grow is all aspects of their lives. Our staff is dedicated to fostering the needs of every individual student. We look at students as individuals who collectively drive the success of our school.

Lafayette Middle School offers an Environmental Academy where students engage day to day with hands-on experiences while building a strong foundation of science- based knowledge. Students in the Environmental Academy have the opportunity to take part in project- based learning as well as attend field trips such as camping, kayaking and hiking. Students will also visit the Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium where they will witness scientist in action and so much more.

Lafayette Middle School is a proud Leader in Me LEAD School. Students are empowered with leadership skills and the mindset that every person has potential and can be a leader. It is evident in our culture that this transformational process is proven to positively impact the lives of our students. The language of The 7 Habits is embedded into our overall school climate.

Lafayette Middle School is a beautiful historical site in the center of Lafayette; this beauty is complimented by the true beauty takes place every day among our faculty, staff, and students.

I am truly honored to lead such an amazing school. It is my belief that the key to the success of any school is to nurture a strong school, family, and community relationship.
