2025-2026 Support Staff of the Year: Mr. Thomas Carmouche
Mr. Thomas Carmouche exemplifies an outstanding school support employee through his tireless dedication, positive spirit, and leadership by example. As Head of OCHS Custodial Staff, he is the first to arrive each morning and often the last to leave, working hard to ensure our campus is clean, safe, and welcoming for all. Over the past year, his efforts have not only improved the appearance of the school but also renewed its climate and spirit.
He greets every student, staff member, and visitor with a warm smile and genuine hospitality. No challenge is too great—he faces each one with grace, positivity, and sometimes even a song. By holding himself to the highest standards while encouraging and uplifting those around him, he has earned the respect of the entire school community and truly enhances the image and success of our school every day.
2025-2026 Teacher of the Year: Mrs. Emily Benoit
Mrs. Benoit embodies everything it means to be a Spartan. She teaches with passion, inspires every student she meets, and works tirelessly to create as many opportunities as possible—inside the classroom, and across our campus. She sponsors multiple organizations here at Comeaux, including FFA, Swim, and Student Council, and does it all with energy, enthusiasm, and that trademark smile that lights up our school every day.
Mrs. Benoit is an OCHS alumni, and didn’t just come back to her roots—she came back to make a difference. Over the past year, she has been a driving force behind the positive shift in the #meauxmentum and the culture and climate of our school. She leads by example, works endlessly, and has shown every student and staff member what it truly means to be #ALLin.
2025-2026 New Teacher of the Year: Mr. Konnor Thibodeaux
In just a few short months, Mr. Konnor Thibodeaux has made a huge impact on our campus. From the very first day, he was #ALLin as Band Director—bringing energy, excitement, and momentum that has lifted our football team, fired up our spirit squads, pumped up our band, and electrified our fans. He helps to lead the charge in our pep rallies and under the Friday Night Lights.
In the classroom, Mr. Thibodeaux is just as dedicated. He is committed to growing students, pushing them to reach new heights, and providing them with fresh, exciting opportunities that make learning come alive. His energy is contagious, his spirit unstoppable, and his impact undeniable.
Though he may be new to our team, it already feels like he has been part of our family for years!
