TRUMAN CAR RIDER DROP OFF AND PICK UP PROTOCOL

This protocol is in place to protect students, parents and staff. 

• PLEASE PLACE YOUR CHILD BEHIND THE DRIVER’S SIDE. THIS IS FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILD AND THE DUTY TEACHER.
• YOU MUST HAVE A CAR RIDER TAG VISIBLE , NOT LAYING ON THE DASH BOARD (Temporary tags are to be held up in order for the duty teacher to see the sign). 
• NO CAR RIDER TAG, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR CHILD IN THE CAR RIDER LINE. YOU MUST REPORT TO THE OFFICE WITH AN ID.  Once cleared, you will be provided  a SLIP to receive your child.
• Gates open at 7:00 AM for Before Care with the students entering at 7:15 AM. You MUST register with YMCA to be accepted at this time.  ALL other students will be allowed to enter at 8:15AM. The gate will close PROMPTLY at 8:45 AM.
• If a student is not registered with YMCA he/she will not be allowed to be accepted into BEFORE CARE.
• Dismissal gates are open at 2:30 PM. The students are dismissed at 3:40 PM.
• Dismissal Gates close PROMPTLY at 4:00 P.M. The remaining students  will be brought to the office for pick up.  

Speak to staff in a kind and respectful manner. INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact the principal at, stfrancis@lpssonline.com  or (337) 521-7810 .

 

PLEASE DO NOT:

• BLOCK TRUMAN’S GROCERY STORE ON THORNTON ST.  YOU WILL RECEIVE A TICKET.
• Use Clara St. or Hilda St. to enter the car rider line.  This causes the flow of traffic to back up and busses can’t get out. 
• Get out of the car rider line to receive  your child. Once the line starts moving it goes quickly.
• Get out of your car and walk to the car rider door to ask for your child or for any other reason. You will be asked to return to your car. If you refuse to return to your car,  you will be addressed by law enforcement. YOU MUST REMAIN IN YOUR CAR AT ALL TIMES.
• Get out your car in the car rider lane to buckle your child. You will be asked to pull aside in an effort to keep the flow of traffic moving.

 

YOU ARE WELCOME TO:

Park in front of the school or on the side or the car rider lane (grassy area) to secure your child. The car rider lane is a NO PARKING ZONE.

• Paul Breaux St. to (R) Foote St.
• Foote St. to (R) Carver St.
• (L) to Thornton St. into car rider gate

From Willow St. 

• Cora Street
• (L)Hilda St. to (R) Foote
• Foote to (L) Carver
• (L) to Thornton St. into car rider gate

From Martin Luther King (MLK)

• Foote St.  (R) Carver St.
• (L) to Thornton St. into car rider gate

No vehicle should be on Clara St,

in front of the school parked or in the bus lane.
