About Us

We are located in the heart of Scott, Louisiana. Our school serves approximately 650 6th through 8th-grade students from diverse backgrounds. In the 2024-2025 school year, the Lafayette Parish School System designated Scott Middle School as the World Language Immersion Academy, bringing French or Spanish- immersion students to our campus. These students are concentrated on earning a dual language endorsement when they graduate from high school. Eligible students can choose to take Algebra I, IBCA (computer application course), band, art, or robotics in 8th grade to earn high school credits. We offer all of these to 6th & 7th graders as electives without the credit option.  At Scott Middle, students may join several clubs or organizations. Our current clubs are JR Beta, Robotics, Cross Country, Running Club, Writing Club, Girls Who Code, 4H and Art Club. Students are encouraged to get involved in any manner they can at SMS. Our sports are cheerleading, football, volleyball, basketball, track & field, and soccer. Scott Middle School is an important part of this robust community, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
