The Lafayette Parish School System Magnet Academies provides two time periods in which students can apply; Phase I and Phase II. Phase I begins at the conclusion of the Magnet Academies Showcase which is held each year in the fall. Applications are open for a specified time period. Of those applications that were accurately completed, a lottery will be held in order to fill the specified number of seats available within the Academy. Should there be seats available after the lottery, Phase II will begin. Dates for both phases will vary from year to year. Check the Calendar of Events to determine application time frames.

Now taking applications for new incoming 9th graders and 10th graders. Students entering in as a 10th grader must either have an IC3 certification or take and pass the AOIT Readiness Assessment Exam. This exam is administered at CHS. Dates for the exam are January 23 and January 30 at 3:00 pm.
