CAR RIDERS:
To improve traffic flow and student safety, we’ve implemented a two-lane drop-off/pick-up system: Arrival & Dismissal ● Enter via Starling, not Long Plantation, and proceed through the staff parking lot. ● Cars split into two lanes and stop at the covered pavilion. ● Six cars unload/load at a time. ● The car rider duty teachers will be manning each area where cars stop with stop/slow signs. When the signs say stop, your car should be placed in park. We will not allow children to move until all vehicles are immobilized.
Note: If you are not one of the first three cars in each lane, please be prepared to stop a safe distance away from the unloading vehicles to wait to advance to the pavilion. ● Once all 6 cars are unloaded/loaded, the cars in the left lane (Green arrows) will go straight through the front parking lot to Kaliste Saloom. The vehicles that are in the right lane (Orange arrows) will turn right through the side gate and proceed to either Kaliste Saloom or Starling Ln. This plan will help us expedite the car rider process. Please bear with us in the first few weeks, as safety will be our priority.● Car tags must be visible throughout the line. No tag = Park and show ID in the front office. ● These processes have been planned with the safety of your child in mind. We will not release a child in the afternoon without a tag or without verifying who is picking the child up. ● There is to be no cell phone use in the car rider area. This is a state law. Please adhere to this for your child’s safety, along with all other children. Please be patient in the first few days. Safety always comes first!
BUS RIDERS
Each bus will be assigned an animal and will be given a corresponding tag to place in their bus window. Animals are assigned to prevent confusion if a driver is using a different bus or their bus number changes. ● Based on the bus your child got off of, or verification from you, your child will be placed on their assigned bus. ● Bus dismissal will begin at 3:25 PM in the order the buses arrive. ● Please note that it may take extra time for the first few days to ensure students are getting home correctly and safely. ● Please see the LPSS website for bus driver information.
NOTE: All transportation changes must be requested by the parents in writing or in person.
