Q: How do I apply for my child?
A: Applications are completed online through LPSS Magnet Academies at Visual & Performing Arts | Lafayette Magnet Academies Families will rank their preferred academies, and placements are made through a lottery process.
Q: Who is eligible to attend?
A: Any student in Lafayette Parish who lives on the East side of the Vermillion River may apply to attend our magnet academy, PreK–5. Families outside of our immediate zone may be admitted through the magnet lottery.
Q: When can I apply?
A: The magnet application window is typically open in the fall semester. Exact dates are posted on the LPSS Magnet Academies website and shared through our school’s communications.
Q: How are students selected?
A: Students are chosen through a computerized lottery system, ensuring equal access for all families who apply during the application window.
