2024-2025 School Year

Summer Reading Assignment:
     1.  Choose five articles from the list below or you can choose any full-length articles (2+ pages)
         from The New Yorker (available online through the Lafayette Public Library) to read and annotate.
     2. You can print out the articles for annotations or you can use Kami to digitally annotate them.
     3.  Annotations must include highlighted information as well as notes in the margin about the highlighted passage.
     4.  Annotate for main idea, style/structure, interesting diction, persuasive techniques, literary devices.
     5.  Notes must include analysis/commentary (explanations) of the items you highlight.
     6.  The more insightful your notes are, the better your grade. 
           Notes that only summarize will not be awarded many points.
     7.  Have your annotations ready to submit or turn in on the first day of class.
